Sou Fujimoto House K is a voluminous Crescent-shaped House located in the dense urban fabric of Northeast Osaka. the approach of a disproportionate L-shaped site is that of a thickened and slender floor plan. pressed against the neighbors ‘ dwellings on three sides and bordered by a grove of trees, the rectangular volume rises literally from the ground with a slight concave movement until it reaches its apogee at the most East end. The canopy thus becomes a striking visual object seen from the outside while offering the family an indispensable outdoor space, in the form of a roof terrace. the habitable roof also confronts the omnipresent concrete slabs with a composition of trees in faceted metal planters.
